ABOUT ME

After a year working as an Assistant to a Talent Agent at The Gersh Agency in Beverly Hills, I accepted an offer to participate in Columbia University's Non-fiction Writing MFA Program. Immersing myself in the entertainment industry has been an invaluable experience in administrative support at a quick pace, attention to detail, and excellent service. From building client pitching materials, to researching contacts, to evaluating relevant opportunities like brand deals, to reviewing contracts, I have become well versed in the business of talent representation. While my experience at Gersh supporting an agent in the Digital department has been informative, my passion lies in the traditional world of reading and writing. A born and raised New Yorker, after completing by undergrad at UCLA in 2023 and living in LA the past 6 years, I am so excited to return to NYC to go back to school.

 READING & WRITING

I often gravitate towards the topics of gender and relationships in my narrative work (family, friends, romantic), but throughout my academic career, I have been interested in identity politics and activism. In April 2023, I was selected to present my paper, Gay Ground Zero: Gay LA Nightlife Paves the Way for Queer Activism and Acceptance Since 1945, at the UCLA History Undergraduate Research Conference. I am inspired by both Jia Tolentino and Bell Hooks who discuss feminist topics, but are also political and subversive: Hooks’ All About Love altered the way I understand relationships and modern feminism, along with Tolentino’s Trick Mirror.

In my recent reading, I have been attracted to writers who transcend genre. After reading Eve Babitz essay collections (my favorite was Eve’s Hollywood) and her works of fiction (I loved LA Woman), I explored Dolly Alderton’s body of work. I found her book of personal essays, Everything I Know About Love, to be equally as poignant as her work of fiction, Ghosts. Similar to Alderton’s column for The Sunday Times, my current project is my Substack, “Crushing,” which I launched in 2021.

The word "crushing” takes me back to the raw experience of writing in my journal. Since grade school, I have exposed my inner world on paper, tackling crises of conscience and character. The intention behind this Substack is to expose raw and nuanced feelings as a Gen-Z woman at the forefront of feminism, politics, and relationships. Crushing encapsulates both the outward and inward action. Loving, wanting, yearning and also fearing, crumbling. The contradictions inherent in the word ‘crushing’ epitomize what it means to be a woman in the world: being my most authentic self—someone who has a lust for life—and fearing embarrassment; loving the people around me, and feeling crushed when I’m not up to par. By deconstructing the psychology of my inner world and misconceptions in feminism and politics, I construct a new archetype of womanhood in the 21st century, a fresh and new Gen-z feminist perspective, which my younger self was lacking as a model. 360-Media Approach

I market my own creative work for my personal brand—Crushing— as well as the creative work of other media companies. I am familiar with the entire Adobe Suite, and excel at Adobe Audition. I am passionate about the representation of women in sports and the portrayal of women on social media platforms. At Gersh, I worked on drafting campaign execution and deal offers for media clients, brainstorming potential TikTok clients, suggesting potential opportunities for outreach.

While I have a creative background, I am results driven and detail oriented. I am proud of the success of my own digital platform, which I attribute to my strategic mind, as well as the creative and strategic work I have contributed to other media organizations including Betches Media, Withitgirl, SeaTogether Magazine, and UCLA Radio.
